My inspiration to write The Vivarium Chronicles began with MOSAIC CAVERNS, followed by THE GLASS PLANET, and will continue with a speculative vision of the future based on the 'hard science' of today. The primary focus I exercise with story themes includes topics of relevance to the human condition in light of the needed bonds to be formed for the transition from a terrestrial existence to a space-based economy with space station infrastructures and exploration. The characters are the vehicles of emotional life and the intellectual differences based on a unique world history from the 21st century forward.
THE GLASS PLANET ~ Self-adapting to a future environment in a transcendental journey through deep human self-consciousness, two undocumented humans appear three hundred years in the future unable to identify themselves.
A timely and relevant story of human occupation and subjugation rising, THE GLASS PLANET is a metaphysical journey into human self-consciousness and the collective consciousness of an 'advanced' human civilization.
In 2352 AD, humankind irresponsibly short-changed themselves as the destructive forces of greed-fascism exploited our home for its perceived riches at the sacrifice of the ’wellbeing’ of the human condition. The battle to preserve THE GLASS PLANET from Minister Riverstrike and the human forces seeking dominance and wealth over the masses is on the shoulders of the two time-travelers from the 20th century who gained celebrity as the first time-travelers in history.
They inspire the Zealot Sentinels, led by Commander Janalake, who is a trusted advisor to Minister Riverstrike, but she harbors a mysterious past with an affection for the proletariat. The future of the existence of the human race will forever change if it can survive!
Storytelling is an art, and Christopher Zyck is a conscientious storyteller who has mastered the craft of providing a perfect balance between fact-based and imaginative inspiration.
Christopher's educational background includes creative writing, American and English literature, journalism, poetry, and dramatic arts. He has honed his skills in producing, fundraising, marketing, advertising, and directing, making him a versatile writer and novelist.
In his epic Science Fiction series, The Vivarium Chronicles, Christopher explores deeply rooted societal-generational dysfunctions and the upheaval of societal norms.
His passion for storytelling and his vast experience make him a trusted and reliable storyteller who can bring any story to life. "A seasoned trusted storyteller providing a balance for factual information and speculative transformation."
Christopher has exercised and developed his writing skills ever since reading his first big word in an encyclopedia at the tender age of seven. Writing has always been a fascination, as has science fiction and in 1976, the bicentennial of the United States of America, standing in the elementary school library of his youth, he read the word Transcendentalism.
On a Panasonic television functioning with bunny ears, nine television channels, and a much-needed ‘horizontal control’ button, he learned about the early science fiction literature and movie classics.
Since then, he has explored science fiction and literature, ranging from the early classics of Frankenstein and H. G. Wells to contemporary speculative fantasies.

The Glass Planet is the debut novel release, and as exciting and fulfilling experience as it has been writing the manuscript over the past three years, the whole creative process began thirty-years-ago in 1992. It was in the Summer of 1992 when an epiphany led me to connecting the reality of nature's existence, the machinations of human civilization and the 'wellbeing' of the human condition. In tandem with the introduction of new technologies dating from the Declaration of Independence to the creation of the World Wide Web, the invisible hand of capitalism has inspired a nation of innovation where new inventions have profoundly transformed the human experience. It is in this tradition of entrepreneurship that has spread across the World, bringing nations of people closer and more transparent than ever before.
At an early age, as an avid reader of newspapers and news magazines, the prospect of connecting people from across the world is truly transformative in terms of 'revealing ourselves to ourselves.' In contemporary times anxieties and misinformation are the power and catalyst to ever growing uncertainties and superstitions that have polluted our collective consciousness. The age old question is Does art reflect society, or does society mimic art?
One thing for certain is that art is created to address societal issues with the expectation to influence societal change.
The Glass Planet is an epic Science -fiction odyssey examining the 'wellbeing' of the human condition over the instinctual greed-fascism that has defined economic polarization, classism, ethnic, racial, and gender bias for millenia. Human Experience is highlighted historically by 'advancements' in disciplines that alter reality forever after.
The time has come for the Human Experience to utilize its self-conscious moral compass and goforth to make radical changes to the ancient economic principles created by people with a much lower GDP, when isolated tribes would fight or flee from any foreigners they came in contact with, and the ancient equivalent to the internet was the Silk Road connecting the east from the Pacific Ocean coast of China, through India, through the Middle East to North Africa and Eastern Europe, with many divergent roads.
The future has amazing promise for a growing population that embraces the 'wellbeing' of the Human Condition. There will be narratives to carry out in discussion, opinions and research. The creation of a Space Station Network for industrial purposes as well as pleasure and entertainment will create unprecedented opportunity for an untold number of people, all of whom must receive education and training suitable for employment in highly refined technical disciplines.
